The work to be done consists of, but is not limited to:a) CIPP lining (Method "A") of approximately 3,995 linear feet of 8-inch and 10-inch diameter sanitary sewer main.b) Pipe-bursting (Method "B") rehabilitation of approximately 1,075 linear feet of 6-inch, 8-inch, 10-inch, 18-inch and 22-inch diameter sanitary sewer mains.c) Traditional Open-trench (Method "C") replacement of approximately 2,069 linear feet of 6-inch, 8-inch and 10-inch diameter sanitary sewer mains.d) Replacement of approximately 1,800 linear feet of 4-inch and 6-inch diameter sanitary sewer laterals.e) Construction and rehabilitation of maintenance holes including excavation and related work. The project will include pre-cast concrete and fiberglass reinforced (FRP) maintenance holes.f)) Many of the work sites are located on private properties with limited access. The City will have a pre-bid site visit on December 16, 2021.g) Part of the work is located within Caltrans' right of way. The contractor is required to obtain Caltrans' encroachment permit prior to start the work. See sample permit in Appendix 7.h) Part of the work is located at East Bay Municipal Utility District's (EBMUD) Claremont Center (44 Roble Ct, Berkeley, CA) property. The contractor is required to obtain construction and property entry permit from EBMUD. See sample permit in Appendix 10.i) Several work sites are located at the Berkeley and Oakland city boundaries. The contractor is required to obtain encroachment permit from the City of Oakland prior to start the work. See sample permit in Appendix 8.j) Over 90% of the work sites are located within City of Berkeley Fire Zone 2 and are subject to restriction imposed during the Red-Flag warnings.California Contractor's License Required: A General Engineering, or C-34 Pipeline, or C-42 Sanitation System. The pre-bid site visit will allow the contractor to view actual site condition for the work. Site access is possible only when accompanied by the City's representative. This site visit is strongly encouraged but attendance remains optional. This will be Bidder's only opportunity to inspect the site.
