This project provides for the replacement of eight new guardrail safety barriers on Whidbey Island. Guardrails, and other work, will all be completed in accordance with the contract provisions, contract plans, and the 2021 WSDOT Standard Specifications for Road, Bridge, and Municipal Construction. Bids received after the date and time stated above will not receive consideration. The Island County, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 U.S.C. 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. ESTIMATE AND TIME FOR COMPLETION : The project is estimated to cost in the range of $400,000 to $445,000. Should the successful bidder fail to enter into such contract and furnish satisfactory performance bond within the time stated in the Contract Provisions, the bid proposal deposit shall be forfeited to Island County.
