As of May 17, 2022, a contractor has been awarded. A timeline for construction has not been confirmed. The Work for the new generator includes the removal of the existing generator, construction and installation of a new 500kw generator with concrete pad, modification to the existing switchboard and installation of new automatic transfer switches. Site improvements include new conduit runs to the electrical room and new bollards. Bids are required for the entire Work. phasing - fire and police headquarters is a 24-hr/365 day a year facility. the emergency generator shall be replaced without shutting off the buildings electrical system or any other operation without prior planning and facility approval. all disruption of services shall be kept to an absolute minimum.
