Demolition, site work, paving and new construction of a bridge / tunnel in Arch Cape, Oregon. Completed plans call for the demolition of a bridge / tunnel; for the construction of a bridge / tunnel; for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a bridge / tunnel.

As of February 4, 2022, project was not yet awarded. Project is expected to be awarded on February 9, 2022. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality in the bidding and to reject any or all bids. The purpose for this RFP is to solicit proposals based on the enclosed information for the design, fabrication, installation and construction inspection of a fully engineered clear span bridge of welded aluminum construction complete with abutments/spread footings and ADA compliant ramps and shall be regarded as the minimum standards for design, fabrication, installation and construction inspection. The purpose is to deliver a "turn-key ready to use" pedestrian bridge. The current Asbury Creek Bridge, originally constructed as a 17 foot long - 12 foot wide wooden vehicular bridge in the 1960's on a "public" road, under County jurisdiction. In the early 1990's the County closed the bridge because of its advance deterioration due to the lack of funding for maintenance. The Arch Cape Water District currently has a 6-inch active water line attached to the structure with C900 pipe. The water district plans to hang a 6" ductile iron pipe under the bridge once installed. Pedestrian traffic is currently the only traffic allowed on the bridge, but the continued deterioration of the bridge is creating a potential hazard even for pedestrians. Therefore, the County would like to replace the existing structure with a 35 foot long-5 foot wide aluminum, ADA compliant pedestrian bridge. All work will be conducted outside of the existing bridge backwalls, no State or Federal permitting will be required.
