Martin County is seeking bids from licensed Contractors to stabilize a 300-foot section of shoreline along the southern perimeter of Twin Rivers Park (Stuart, FL). The Project will use the combination of a revetment and two breakwaters as well as incorporate nature-based solutions, to provide connectivity between the adjacent breakwater system to the north and revetment at the neighboring private property to the south, which will reduce erosion, mitigate future flood impacts, and maintain recreational shoreline access. Substantial completion shall be within 190 calendar days (from issuance of Notice to Proceed). Liquidated damages shall be $1,584.00 per day. Bid must be accompanied by the County's Bid Bond form, including those applicable to the sureties for the Statutory Payment Bond and Common Law Performance Bond (upload copy of bid bond to DemandStar if e-bidding). The bond shall be on the Bid Guaranty form provided by the County, with Power of Attorney Affidavit attached, in the amount of 5% of the total bid amount (base bid plus any and all alternates). Alternate bond forms will not be accepted. Failure to provide the County bond forms may deem the bid nonresponsive. In lieu of the Bid Bond, the bid may be accompanied by a certified check of any national or state bank made payable to the County in the amount of 5% of the total bid amount. Any certified check that may be received will be returned to the unsuccessful bidder(s), within thirty (30) calendar days after the opening of the bids. Bid bonds will not be returned to the bidders unless specifically requested by the bidder. Any certified check of the successful bidder(s) will be returned to them promptly after the County and the successful bidder(s) have (i) executed the Contract. Failure of the County to execute the Contract within ninety (90) days after the date of the bid opening shall initiate release of the Bid Bond, certified check, cashier's check, treasurer's check or bank draft of lowest and second lowest bidders unless mutually agreed otherwise.
