Q&A deadline: 12/21/2021 11:00 AM County(s): Statewide On-Call Non-Destructive Testing Services The DEPARTMENT employs two (2) Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technicians to cover all Non-Destructive Testing Services for both the DEPARTMENT and local entities in Nevada, which includes Quality Assurance (QA) inspections for steel girder and pre-cast pre-tensioned girder fabrication at varying fabrication plants within the state of Nevada, as well as in other states. NDT services are used on active construction projects, during steel and pre-cast girder fabrications, girder erection, and quality assurance during post-tensioning operations. NDT services are used to evaluate existing structures for the National Bridge Inspection Program and bridge rehabilitation projects. This includes performing maintenance repairs on existing bridges (grinding and/or drilling of fatigue cracks.) The DEPARTMENT will enter into any and all necessary agreements with local entities. The DEPARTMENT anticipates that the workload for the NDT group will exceed the capacity of current DEPARTMENT employees. The Service Provider will work under the direction of the NDT Supervisor or the Principal Structures Engineer, Inspection/Maintenance. The Service Provider may provide NDT services both within the State of Nevada as well as out of state fabricating facilities, field construction support, and NDT services of existing structures, as requested by the DEPARTMENT.
