Renovation of a swimming pool in Kirkwood, Missouri. Completed plans call for the renovation of a swimming pool.
The scope of work is only related to the Aquatic Center Competition Pool, the Leisure Pool, the SCS Play Structure, and various other painted surfaces and all manufacturer recommendations must be followed at all times. It is the intention of the City to contract out to a qualified company for painting of these bodies of water per the processes dictated in Section 4, Pool Painting Specifications, or approved equivalent. All work shall be completed by May 1, 2022. Q&A end date _ 1/14/2022 05:00:00 PM CT Apply two coats of Tnemec Series 161 in Cumulus White to both Lazy River & Leisure Pool. Apply two coats of Tnemec Series 161 in Black to all floor grates, steps and depth markings of the two bodies of water. Surface Preparation o Remove dirt, grease and oil by washing and scrubbing all surfaces with 3 ounces of detergent to each gallon of water. Flush away all cleaning solutions with clean water. o All surfaces shall receive sand "Brush-off Blast Cleaning" to uniformly abrade the surfaces and remove any failed coating down to a sound substrate. To prevent impact damage, use a very fine abrasive and keep the nozzle at least four feet from the surface. o Spot prime bare areas with a thinned (20%) coat of Tnemec Series 215 Resurfacer or Series 161 (color). o Clean up and properly dispose of all sandblasting waste and residue, per local, state and federal regulations. o Surface should be clean, dry and free of contaminates. Paint Application Specifications o Apply finish coat of Tnemec Series 161 Cumulus White Hi-Build Epoxoline at 3.0 to 5.0 mils dry film thickness to floor and walls at 200 sq.ft. per gallon. o Apply Tnemec Series 161 Black Hi-Build Epoxoline for steps, grates and depth markings, lane lines, and targets. o For skid-resistant surfaces (steps, etc.) broadcast clean dry silica sand (rounded) on the surface of final coat while it is still tacky. Remove loose sand after final coat has cured hard.
