Renovation of a fire / police facility in Springfield, Massachusetts. Completed plans call for the renovation of a fire / police facility.

The City of Springfield is seeking bids from qualified firms to enter into an agreement to provide acoustical ceiling repairs for the Springfield Police Headquarters, 130 Pearl Street. This bid falls under M.G.L. Ch. 149 and other procurement statutes. Work includes, but is not limited to: removal and disposal of existing acoustical tiles and replacing with new ones in selected areas of Police Headquarters. In some instances, the existing grid will need to be modified or replaced to accommodate the new tile. Estimated value of the contract is approximately $75,000.00. The City of Springfield supports the goal of twenty percent minority and women (MWBE) participation in all contracts. Massachusetts Division of Occupational Safety Prevailing Wage rates apply. The Chief Procurement Officer/Designee reserves the right to waive any informality in and to reject any or all bids if it is in the public interest to do so. All questions regarding the IFB or its specifications must be received in writing by the Office of Procurement on or before December 29, 2021 by 4:30 P.M. (lstabilo@springfield cityhall.com) in order to be considered. The Contractor agrees that within thirty (30) consecutive calendar days after the actual substantial Completion Date, the Contractor shall achieve Final Completion and Acceptance by the City or be subject to liquidated damages of Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) per day, starting with the thirty-first (31st) consecutive calendar day after actual Substantial Completion up to and including the date of Final Completion and Acceptance by the City. ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE Notice to Proceed Date plus 4 Calendar Weeks 5% Bid Bond (5% ofthe total Bid amount) The Contractor shall within TEN (10) days of Notice of Award furnish the City with (1) a Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the Contract sum as security for the faithful performance of this Contract, and also (2) a Labor & Materials Payment Bond in an amount equal to One Hundred percent (100%) of the Contract sum as security for the payment of all persons performing labor on the Project under this Contract and furnishing materials in connection with this Contract. Successful Contractor will be required to furnish the City with a Fifty Percent (50%) Payment Bond at the time of contract execution.
