Demolition, site work and renovation of a mixed-use development in Brockton, Massachusetts. Conceptual plans call for the demolition of a educational facility; for the renovation of a educational facility; for site work for a educational facility; and water / sewer project.

As of May 6,2022, bids were canceled. no plans for rebid. Ashfield Middle School is located at 225 Coe Road, Brockton, MA 02302. The scope of work includes delivery, assembly, installation and all connecting services required to complete and deliver the modular classrooms ready for use and occupancy, including all site and utility work including foundation, (blocks and/or pylons). Additionally, install will include sub-contractor's costs for site work, utilities, permits and landings for permanent placement. General contractor must submit a certificate of eligibility issued by DCAMM and an update statement as required by G.L.c.149, 44E, in the category of Modular/Prefab Construction. Modular must comply with all current Massachusetts Building codes and K-12 School Occupancy Permit requirements. The contract period shall be from May 3, 2022 to June 30, 2024. The Prevailing Wage shall become part of the contract signed between the successful bidder and the awarding authority or the contract is invalid. The General Bid proposal, filled out and signed in longhand by the bidder must be accompanied by a bid deposit equal to five percent (5%) of the amount of the base bid(s) of the project(s). A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond, each equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the total project cost. REQUIREMENTS FOR MODULAR CLASSROOM BUILDING: o Modular unit dimensions - Minimum of 750 sq. ft per classroom (approximate size 30'L X 25'W) Must accommodate 24 children per room. o Each classroom should have a storage closet. o Clear span building - no interior posts. o Exterior - Non-combustible exterior siding is strongly recommended such as Hardi-plank or equivalent. o The modular classroom will be equipped with all structures, components and upgrades to add a second level. In the near future, a second level maybe required. o Roof- A slightly built-up roof (minimum 5-12) is preferred for the roof design o Heating is required. Natural gas is the fuel source. Building Code Requirements - Must meet all applicable state and local codes. o Access - A covered hallway connects the existing modular space to the main building. o Utilities - Connections of water and sewer are responsibility of the contractor. o Electrical- Modular units must be equipped for lights and power circuits terminating in an electrical panel which meets current code electrical requirements. o Fire Alarm- Provide access point on unit. o PA- Provide access point on unit. o Data - Provide access point on unit. o Includes all freight costs. o Other conditions - Any building, plumbing and electrical permits are the responsibility of the contractor. RESTROOMS: o Install 1 restroom unit with a janitor's closet. o 1 male bathroom with 3 urinals, 3 toilet stalls with one of them being handclapped accessible and a minimum of 3 sinks. o 1 female bathroom with 6 toilet stalls with one of them being handicapped accessible and a minimum of 4 sinks. o One staff/gender non-specific bathroom with one toilet which is handicapped accessible and one sink DEMOLITION OF EXISTING BUILDINGS: This work shall include, but is not limited to providing all materials, equipment, supervision and permits required for the Contractor to demolish the existing structure and any accessory structures on the identified parcel/lot. Contractor shall include the removal of all footings, foundations, abandoned furniture, and debris and the proper disposal of materials. Contractor is responsible for the hauling and proper disposal of materials removed. Once the parcel/lot is cleared, the contractor shall grade the lot for proper drainage. The Contractor will be responsible for the disconnection and removal of all utilities to service source at street (water, sewer, electric, gas, etc.) prior to commencement of demolition activities. Contractor will be responsible for coordinating and securing DigSafe permits prior to commencing any digging or excavating
