Owens Community College is seeking Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) services for our School of Nursing and Health Professions Renovation. The College will be renovating our 33,560 single story Audio-Visual Classroom Center and adjoining 30,887 single story Library buildings on the east side of our Toledo-Area campus so that we can co-locate all of our health programs into one space and create a new School of Nursing and Health Professions. This renovation may also require the construction of up to 20,000 square foot of additional space to accommodate all needs for the health programs, if the programming phase determines they are needed. The renovation will include lab space, classroom space, offices, student study areas, support spaces and computer labs for the following programs: 1. Nursing 2. Surgical Tech and Sterile Processing 3. Medical Assisting 4. Dental Hygiene 5. Occupational Therapy 6. Health Information Technology 7. MRI 8. Physical Therapy 9. Radiologic Technology 10. General and Vascular Sonography These building will both be vacant at the time of the renovation but are a part of a complex of adjoining buildings that will be occupied. Professional design services are in progress and provided by Buehrer Group Architecture and Engineering out of Maumee, Ohio in partnership with Bostwick Design Partnership out of Cleveland OH under a separate contract. Project construction will utilize the Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) methodology. We expect construction to commence in June 2023 and be completed by August 2024. Final scope, budget and construction schedule are being developed.All aspects of the project and related issues will be implemented and operated consistent with the Contracting Authority and/or Owner's policies and procedures.
