Sealed Bids for construction of the Addition/Renovations of the Mount Rogers Community Services Youth Crisis Stabilization Facility project located at Max Meadows, VA. The procedure for withdrawal of bids shall be according to provision (i) contained in 2.2-4330 A, Code of Virginia (1950) as amended. The Project generally involves adaptation and expansion of a former approx. 4100 SF wood frame restaurant building for use as a short-term residential care facility for adolescent children. The existing building will be renovated to serve dining, group activity, staff office, kitchen, and administrative functions. A 3136 SF addition will be constructed to house 12 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, plus support spaces and generally consist of wood frame exterior walls, vinyl siding, concrete slab-on-grade, wood shop-fab roof trusses, and metal panel roofing matching the existing building. The entire building will be served by a NFPA 13D sprinkler system and a diesel auxiliary generator. Site improvements will include grading, imported fill, a new sprinkler water service line, and ornamental steel fencing. The construction contract is to be awarded on a lump sum basis. Security may be in the form of a certified or cashier's check or a bid bond secured by a surety company. A Performance Bond and a Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred percent of the Contract amount will be required on this Project. The Contractor shall also provide Liability Insurance coverage.
