Renovation of an educational facility in Louisville, Kentucky. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 236,521-square-foot, three-story above grade educational facility.

Jefferson County Public Schools will receive sealed bids and award contract(s) for: PHASE I HVAC RENOVATION AT CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL, Louisville, KY. Project involves involves removal and replacement of HVAC systems and renovation of electrical systems (including lighting), plumbing, fire protection, communications, some audio/visual installations, and electronic safety and security systems. Abatement of pipe insulation, flooring and other asbestos containing materials will be part of the project. A new secure vestibule will be constructed and the administrative area and other areas around the entrance lobby will be renovated. Other architectural modifications will include construction of new mechanical rooms and the reworking of existing spaces around these. Improvements will be made to accommodate health sciences, FMD, and other specialized use spaces. Restrooms will be reworked to provide accessible stalls, requiring renovation work at toilet partitions and patching at terrazzo floors. Masonry infill will be required at some openings no longer in use for HVAC. New partitions will be stud framing/gypsum board or CMU. Doors are primarily hollow metal doors in hollow metal frames. New hollow metal frames will be installed in hall areas to create new program spaces. Bidders must be present at the bid opening. JCPS Board of Education has established goals and good faith effort of 15% participation for Minority Business Enterprises, and 10% for Women Business Enterprises in all construction contracting. JCPS reserves the right to accept any bid, to reject any or all bids, to waive any informality in bids received where such acceptance, rejection, or waiver is considered to be in the best interest of the Owner.
