Project includes concrete inside the kennels, replace/repair existing kennels, build a new patrol kennel, repair/replace fencing in the quarantine kennels, add double-sided guillotine doors to three quarantine kennels, add electrical outlets to the outside covered area, and replace/repair current outdoor lighting. The city reserves the right to reject all bids, close the bid without prior notice, or award the bid to a party other than the lowest bidder. Regrade the outside concrete to exterior drains. The entire length of the building from 1/2 " from the top of the ledge to the drains. Rough dimensions 62" W X 56.5' L Install Cinder Block (8X4X16) walls at 4' high between all 11 kennels Re-do fencing material on all kennels (fencing in-between may remain if secured to cinder block walls) with heavy gauge chain link fencing material. Replace all 11 outside kennel doors, minimizing gaps around the bottom and sides of the gates. Installing new locking mechanisms on all outside gates. Locks should be a barrel-style lock to prevent slippage on the posts, should limit the space needed between the gate and post, and should allow for a padlock or other secure locking mechanism to be used. Any locks and mechanisms need to be rated for exterior use in our environment and be able to withstand constant contact with water from daily cleaning. Reinforcing the bottom of the chain-link fencing around all kennel bases (including inside kennels) to prevent dogs from chewing through or pushing out the bottom of the fencing (Tension Bands, not tie wire). Run electrical underground from the building to the closest outside post on the canopy with dual outlets. The outlet should be on a dusk to dawn sensor with manual override. Repair/ replace the two outside LED lights (1 on the south side of the building and 1 on the east side of the building. Build new stand-alone "Patrol Kennel" roughly 6' L X 5' W' X 87" H matching the other 11 kennels with heavy gauge chain link sides and roofing. One outside door facing south with the same locking mechanisms as the other kennels. Create two-sided guillotine doors on all three cinder block partitions in the quarantine kennels. The doors must be Security Boss Kennel Clad Insulated Guillotine Kennel Doors or another brand of equal quality and functionality (Any deviation in the doors must be approved by Animal Control). The contractor will need to cut the holes for the doors, install the doors, and provide safe material between the doors. Plans must be submitted to Aransas Pass Animal Control for approval from DSHS before beginning any work in the quarantine kennels. Replace chain-link fencing as needed in 4 quarantine kennels, including securing the bottoms of the gates and fences to prevent escape. Readjustment of the doors may be needed. All gates should have the locking mechanisms replaced to match the new outside kennel locking mechanisms. Plans must be submitted to Aransas Pass Animal Control for approval from DSHSbefore beginning any work in the quarantine kennels. Add additional fencing to the top of the quarantine backup fence to reach the ceiling or as close as possible to prevent escape. Fencing is estimated to be 16' L X 2' H. New fencing will run the length of the old fence and gate and should not impair easy entry/ exit from the current walk-through gate.
