The work consists of providing splash pad/ water feature equipment for imbedded, powder coated, ground spray features, and a complete recirculation system. Other collateral work includes training and permitting through the IDPH. Description: Splash Pad/Water Play Area to consist of imbedded, powder coated, ground spray features per the attached drawings and a complete recirculation system designed in accordance with all local and state regulations (including IDPH). Splash Pad/Water Play Area should consist of the following: i. Imbedded Water Play Fixtures - Standard flow water play features ii. Recirculation System 1. Cartridge Filtration Skid - A pre-plumbed, pre-wired, integrated filtration equipment system mounted on an epoxy coated skid. The skid to consist of main system control panel, filtration pump with integral hair and lint strainer, automatic chemical treatment controller, gauges, and flow meter. Size filtration system per local codes based on design. 2. Chemical Treatment - To consist of Liquid Chlorine Feeder, Liquid Acid Pump, and (2) Chemical Solution Crocks - Liquid Chlorine Crock to be housed within Mechanical room per drawings, Liquid Acid Crock to be located outside mechanical Room per drawings, provider to supply exterior, lockable aluminum chemical storage cabinet sized to contain acid crock and additional acid supplies accordingly. Chemical feed pumps shall be Blue and White Brand, peristaltic style, sized to appropriate feed rate for system. Chemical feed rates shall be automatic, determined by a chlorine and PH analyzer. 3. Feature Skid - A pre-plumbed, pre-wired, integrated equipment system mounted on an epoxy skid. System to consist of a self-priming feature pump with integral hair and lint strainer, check valves, isolation valves, gauges, and flow switch. System to be capable of 100 gpm feature flow rates. 4. Distribution Manifold - A distribution manifold for all water activities. Manifold to be connected (in the field) to feature pump discharge and have all discharge lines with manual flow control to water play elements. 5. Prefabricated Water Reservoir - To consist of a 3000-gallon concrete vessel complete with access hatch, access ladder, venting pipes, floating skimmer, water level control float, overflow outlet, submersible pump out system, inlet loop manifold, filter, and feature pump foot valves, mounting hardware and all piping and electrical connections specific to project design. 6. Step Pad Activator - To consist of a step pad activator with touch sensor that will signal control panel to activate feature supply system for set duration of time. 7. Control Panel - All on/Off - To be a UL listed control panel that will provide complete operating system power distribution and system controls for an on/off recirculation system. Panel includes a programmable control system that will set hours of operation, duration of system run time, and activate water flow via a touch enabled activation device. Typical electrical requirements for ON/OFF recirculation systems are 230V 1Ph/60Htz and 120v 1Ph/60htz. 8. Collector Box - To consist of a 18" diameter PVC basin with grate top. Each collector box has a nominal capacity of 250 gpm gravity supply to water containment vessel. 9. Rain Diverting Waste Valve Box - To consist of an electric solenoid valve housed in a plastic burial housing that will allow for collector boxes to drain to waste when feature pumping system is not operating. iii. System Startup and Training - Provide direct technician for (2) day of system startup, balancing, and owner training. (If contractor believes additional time will be required, the bid should be qualified as such with the additional time and cost listed separately.) iv. Design, Construction Documents and Permitting - Provide all design and construction drawings for splash pad project per the attached drawings. Construction drawings included within this bid document depict construction of concrete pad, mechanical system, electrical and control systems, imbed spray fixtures, collector box installation details, water play structure assembly/installation, and equipment systems installation and hookups. All construction drawings to be signed and sealed by licensed PE in State of Illinois (experienced in such systems design) and to be submitted on behalf of the City of Troy to applicable State and Local Agencies for review and approval. Detailed site and grading plans to be provided by the City of Troy for inclusion into the IDPH submittal. Include cost of IDPH permit submittal within bid price. v. Alternative Items: 1. Filtration System Upgrade - Sand Filter - In lieu of cartridge filters, provide sand filter sized for splash pad design and local/state requirements 2. Filtration System Upgrade - UV Disinfection System - To consist of a Delta UV disinfection unit that is UL listed, NSF certified, and cryptosporidium evaluated, and EPA registered. Unit has electrical controller that has UV monitors. Unit to be capable of the filtration flow rate of 85 gpm.
