The purpose of this analysis contract is to fund the analysis of, and develop a plan for, the conduit of McMullen Dam. The conduit through McMullen Dam is a thin walled steel pipe that dates to the 1960s, making it more than 50 years old, well past the design life. The design drawings suggest the conduit may be encased in concrete but due to a lack of documentation, it is not clear if this is the case. Based on the age and unknown condition of the conduit, the conduit must be evaluated to determine the risk it may pose to the dam. Once evaluated, a plan to address the issue(s) with the conduit must be developed. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
