Site work for a water / sewer project in Derry, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.

As of March 11, 2022, per the owner work is anticipated to begin in Spring 2022. Each Proposal shall be accompanied with a certified check or Bidder's Bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the proposal, in favor of the Derry Township Supervisors. No bid may be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after the same has been filed with the Derry Township Supervisors. All contractors must adhere to Act 127 of 2012 (Public Works Employment Verification Act). The Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Requirement do apply to this project. This project is partially funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). The Derry Township Supervisors reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informality in bids received. The entire work must be completed, approved and accepted by the Owner within one hundred eighty (180) calendar days following date specified in Notice to Proceed. The project work area for the proposed storm sewer project is located along Mania Street, Penn Avenue, and Maple Drive in Derry Township, Westmoreland County, PA. For a location view, refer to the site location map on the Contract Drawings. The work covered under this section consists of the Contractor furnishing all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to prepare, grade, construct and install a new stormwater detention pond for this project to control stormwater discharge from the proposed new storm sewer system along Penn Avenue, Mania Street and Maple Drive. This work shall also include the proper implementation of the erosion and sedimentation control plan as approved by the Westmoreland Conservation District for this project. All work performed and materials used will be in strict compliance with the relevant portions of the Standard and Detailed Specifications, and contractual matters will conform to the Standard contract Provisions of these Specifications. The Contractor must follow all details within the Post-Construction Stormwater Management (PCSM) plan and Erosion and Sedimentation Control (E&SC) plan sheets, including the specified construction sequence. The Contractor must be thoroughly experienced in this type of work, must be reputable and must recognize the fact that this project will require utmost care in the execution of the work. All work shall conform, during its progress or on its completion, truly to the lines, levels and grades, and shall be built in a thoroughly substantial and workmanlike manner, in accordance with the plans and directions given from time to time by the Engineer, subject to such modifications and additions as shall be deemed necessary by the Engineer during its execution. In no case shall any work in excess of the plan requirements and Specifications be paid for unless ordered in writing by the Owner or the Engineer. These specifications are generally appropriate to all earthen ponds and water quality Best Management Practice (BMP) structures. All references to ASTM and AASHTO specifications apply to the most recent version.
