Bids are invited upon the quantities of work as follows: 30 Cubic Yard of PCC Concrete, Class SI (building floor and foundation); 200 Cubic Yard of PCC Concrete, Class SI (parking lot); and 30 Cubic Yard of PCC Concrete, Class SI (sidewalk) / (Bid Alternate #1: 30 Cubic Yard of PCC Concrete, Class SI color dye concrete sidewalk); and all concrete shall be delivered directly to the site (71 North Loxa Road) requested within the City of Charleston, Illinois at the time ordered. It is understood that total quantities listed are approximate only and that they may be increased or decreased as may be needed to properly complete the improvements within its present limits or extensions thereto, at the unit price stated and that bids will be compared on the basis of the total price for the group. Bids will be received for a single prime contract and bids shall be issued on a unit price basis. Concrete shall be delivered in quantities "as-requested" and unit prices shall be effective until December 31, 2022. Project funding is from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) program. Attention is called to the fact that the firm must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex, or national origin and that Federal Section 3 and all other Federal, State, and Local provisions shall apply. The City of Charleston reserves the right to reject any or all proposals or to waive any informalities in the procurement process. Bids may be held by the City of Charleston for a period not to exceed 30 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids, prior to awarding of the Contact.
