Site work, asbestos abatement and renovation of an educational facility in Flinton, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and for asbestos abatement for a educational facility.

The Glendale School District will receive bids for Renovations to the High School Science Classrooms for the Glendale Jr. Sr. High School. It is the intent of the Owner to enter into separate contracts as follows: Contract No. 1 General Construction Contract No. 2 HVAC Construction Contract No. 3 Plumbing Construction Contract No. 4 Electrical Construction Contract No. 5 Asbestos Removal Contractors desiring to bid the Asbestos Removal Contract may obtain same by contacting Microbac Laboratories. Bids shall include a Bid Security Bond or Certified Check, payable to Glendale School District, in an amount of five percent (5%) of the bid, in accordance with Instructions to Bidders, as included in the Contract Documents. Provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, appliances, auxiliaries, services, hoisting, scaffolding, support, supervision, and Project Record Documents, and perform all operations, and perform all operations for the furnishing and installing of the complete electrical system, including but not limited to the work described hereinafter. The work shall meet or exceed the latest codes, regulations and requirements of the local community and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. C. The electrical work is shown schematically on the Drawings to indicate the general system arrangement and configuration. The work of this Division shall include coordination with the work of other Divisions of the Specifications and the Contract Documents so as to provide a complete and operational system capable of being readily operated and maintained, including approved re-arrangement of the systems and equipment and re-routing of distribution services to enable the complete system to fit within the confines of the allotted electrical spaces, all to the satisfaction of the Architect. D. The work includes, but is not limited to the following: 1. The removal of existing electrical distribution branch circuits and receptacles within the Science Classrooms as indicated on plan including any de-energized branch circuit conduit and conductors. 2. The provision of a new electrical panelboard, and branch circuit conduit and conductors to each and every outlet in the Science Classrooms, except for the devices and equipment, shown to remain. Existing equipment, outlets, etc., to remain shall be reconnected so that the entire Electrical System remains in operation. 3. The replacement of the existing Pa system speakers within the Science Classroom, with new ceiling mounted speaker, installation shall include conduits, outlet boxes, cabling, speakers, etc. 4. Removal of Classroom and Corridor light fixtures and switches as indicated on drawings. 5. The provisions for new Classroom and Corridor light fixtures and low voltage controls as indicated on drawings. 6. The provisions for duct detectors to be located within new ductwork to be provided and connect to existing fire alarm systems. 7. The provision of new tele/data network system devices and CAT6 cabling to the Science Rooms as shown on the drawings. 8. The removal of selected Tele/Data Network System devices within Science Rooms as shown on the drawing devices, wiring, conduit, and surface mounted raceways shall be removed. 9. The provision of a complete wiring and conduit system for heating, ventilating and air conditioning equipment. 10. Fuses for starter/disconnect switches for all HVAC and plumbing equipment shall be furnished by the Contractor supplying the equipment to the Electrical Contractor. 11. In the instance of special equipment and systems furnished and installed under this Contract, all final connections and testing of the equipment and systems shall be made under the direct supervision of competent authorized service engineers who shall be employed by the respective equipment manufacturer and/or an authorized and competent representative. Any and all expenses incurred by these equipment manufacturer's representatives shall be borne by the Contractor. E. Note that this is a phased project, the Electrical Contractor shall coordinate all Electrical work with the General Contractor. All work by the Electrical Contractor that is out of the phase from the phasing plan shall be completed during second shift, third shift, and weekends as required. Refer to architectural phasing plan prior to bidding. Note that temporary support of ceiling equipment is required for HVAC and Plumbing Contract work.
