Renovation of a mixed-use development in Chicago Heights, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility; and office development.
Bids for Main Office Renovation Projects at the Sandridge School located at 2950 Glenwood Dyer Road, Chicago Heights, IL 60411. Bids will be received for the following bid packages: Bid Package #1 - Masonry; Bid Package #2 - Carpentry and General Construction; Bid Package #3 - Windows; Bid Package #4 - Flooring; Bid Package #5 - Acoustical Ceilings; Bid Package #6 - Painting; Bid Package #7 - Plumbing; Bid Package 8 - HVAC; and Bid Package #9 - Electrical; Bid Package #10 - Low Voltage. No bid shall be withdrawn after the opening of the proposals without the consent of School District 172 for a period of sixty (60) days after the scheduled time of closing bids. APPLICABLE REQUIREMENTS All employees of the Contractor or Subcontractor(s) on construction work for this Project shall be paid wages at rates not less than those prevailing on similar construction in the locality as determined by the Department of Labor in accordance with the applicable provisions of the "Wages of Employees on Public Works Act" (Prevailing Wage Act, Illinois Rev. Stat., 820 ILCS 130/1 et. seq.) and with all applicable provisions of the "Illinois' Preference Act", 30 ILCS 570/.01 et. seq. The successful Bidder of the construction of the improvement will be required to file a performance and payment bond equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract, with sureties to be approved by the Architect, which performance bonds shall be conditioned upon proper and faithful performance by the contractor of the work specified in accordance with the plans and specifications therefore, according to the time and terms and conditions of the contract: and also that the successful Bidder, now the Contractor, shall properly pay all debts incurred by the Contractor in the execution of the work, including those for labor and material furnished for himself and all of his subcontractors. The bonding company shall have a minimum rating of "A VIII " in accordance with Best's Key Rating Guide - Latest Edition. The Contractor shall be required to furnish sufficient insurance or guaranty of indemnity to School District 172 against any and all claims which might arise for damages to persons or property due to the negligence of the Contractor or Subcontractors, or their officers, agents, employees or servants, during the construction of said improvement and until the said improvement has been finally accepted as complete by the School District 172.
