The scope of work includes the construction of a new water filtration plant, including but not limited to the construction of a clearwell and raw water storage tanks, water treatment building, storage garage, chemical rooms, intermediate pumps, distribution pumps, water treatment equipment, water and sewage lines, and all necessary appurtenances and restoration for said construction. This work includes but is not necessarily limited to, the furnishing of all labor, the superintendence, materials, tools and equipment and performing all work necessary to complete all General, HVAC, and Electrical Construction in accordance with the Contract Documents. All work shall be constructed according to the Contract Drawings and Specifications which are on file at the office of the Owner and Lennon, Smith, Souleret Engineering, Inc., 846 Fourth Avenue, Coraopolis, Pennsylvania 15108-1522 Any questions on ordering the bid documents are to be directed to Haus Printing at 412-231-7700 or printshop@hausprinting.com. The bid must be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond in the amount of ten percent (10%) of the bid or as specified, made payable to the Municipal Water Authority of Aliquippa to guarantee the bidder's entrance into the contract if given the award. No bid bond shall be waived or returned because the Bidder has failed to or cannot comply with any requirements as set forth in the plans, specifications, or any applicable statutes of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or any applicable municipal ordinances. The Authority reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any informalities in the bidding. No bid may be withdrawn for ten (10) calendar days after the scheduled time for receipt of bids. Attention is directed to the fact that procurement is subject to all requirements of the Pennsylvania "Steel Products Procurement Act, Act No. 1978-3"; and for Contract value exceeding $25,000, the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act (Act of 1961 P.L. 987), and The Public Works Employment Verification Act (July 2012) apply. The Authority shall, within seven (7) days of the bid opening, either (a) award the construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder, or (b) reject all bids received. Bidders on this work will be required to comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
