Description of Work: The project consists of furnishing all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to install approximately 6,800 linear feet (LF) of new 8-inch and 1,500 LF of new 4-inch water mains, including, but not limited to, excavation, demolition, abandon existing water main pipes. All interconnections, service connections, and stub-outs on the existing pipelines shall be transferred to the proposed or other existing pipelines. Additionally, fire hydrants shall be installed on the proposed pipelines of adequate size per the Fire Departments requirements. Bid Security: A copy of the Bid security must accompany the Bid submitted electronically. The Bid security (original document) must be received by the Procurement Management Department, at 17011 NE 19th Avenue, Suite #305, North Miami Beach, Florida 33162, within 72 hours of the Bid response due date. Bid securities not received within 72 hours by the Procurement Management Department may render the Bid non-responsive. Bid security must be in the form of a certified check, cashiers check, an irrevocable letter of credit or surety bond payable to the City of North Miami Beach, Florida. Return of the Bid security submitted by the awarded Bidder is conditioned upon the awarded Bidder submitting the specified performance and payment bond within (10) days of notice by the City. Failure or refusal of the awarded Bidder to submit a satisfactory performance and payment bond within the time stated will result in the forfeiture of the Bid security. All other Bid securities will be returned after the Agreement is executed, unless returned earlier, at the Citys discretion. There will be no official scheduled site visit to review the Citys expectations for this project, the project background, or to discuss the overview of scope. It will be the sole responsibility of the bidder to be familiar with the scope of the Citys requirements and systems prior to submitting a Bid. No variation in price or conditions shall be permitted based upon a claim of ignorance. Submission of a Bid will be considered evidence that the Bidder has familiarized themselves with the nature and extent of the work, equipment, materials, and labor required.
