The bid release consists of renovations at one (1) remaining school. All other buildings have been previously bid and awarded. The renovation to the remaining school is as follows: STEVENSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (BP 31D): Work at Stevenson Elementary School Sitework will include demolition of existing pavement and curbs, installation of new storm sewer, retaining wall, concrete and asphalt pavement, erosion control, and site grading for a new roadway behind the Stevenson Elementary School to more safely guide school buses around the school. Bid Security in the form of a bid bond in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the base bid is required from all Bidders. No other forms of Bid Security will be accepted. The work will be done in accordance with the Contract Documents. "FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS INVITATION TO BID WILL RESULT IN THE DISQUALIFICATION OF THE BIDDER". This contract calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. ("the Act"). The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed. All contractors and subcontractors rendering services under this contract must comply with all requirements of the Act, including but not limited to, all wage, notice and record keeping duties. The Board of Education of Lake Villa School District 45 and Gilbane Building Company reserve the right to reject any or all bids. All information submitted as part of this process shall be considered public information under the State Freedom of Information Act unless specifically disclosed on the applicable information by the Bidder.
