The City is inviting engineering consultants to provide professional services including, but not limited to, system modelling, project planning, feasibility studies, project management, preliminary design, detailed design, and tendering and construction services including contract administration or construction inspection, or any other related engineering services as requested by the City. The City of Castlegar, located in the West Kootenay region of British Columbia, services a population of approximately 9000 residents. On an annual basis, the City repairs, maintains and replaces aging infrastructure through a replacement program supported by a corporate asset management policy. The program focusses on replacement of infrastructure based on condition primarily but is also prioritized based on optimization and strategic goals. Projects include: improvements to roadways; water, sanitary, and drainage infrastructure upgrades; water and wastewater treatment improvements; pump and lift station upgrades; and reservoir upgrades. In addition to City-led capital improvements, developments often require offsite works involving improved water or sanitary distribution and access for vehicles and pedestrians. The City performs review for conformance with our specifications and bylaws, approves such off-site works, and completes periodic inspections. Other projects, such as city-owned building replacements and improvements, new parks and playgrounds and bridge restorations are also completed periodically.
