Rehabilitation of The Exit Ramp Retaining Wall at the Dufferin Transfer Station. Replacement of the existing wooden retaining wall by installation of a new retaining wall system: East Portion (Direct Replacement) 1. Excavate and remove the soil in between existing retaining wall and the ramp to maintain a maximum side slope of 2H:1V; 2. Demolish and dispose of the existing retaining wall system; 3. Daylight and protect existing watermain; 4. Construct the new permanent retaining wall system by advancing helical piers and tie-back; 5. Install subdrain; 6. Backfill and restore side-slope to match existing slope of 2H:1V and hydroseed; 7. Restore the finished grade and install asphalt pavement in front of the new permanent wall to provide positive drainage toward the adjacent catch basins. South Portion (Indirect Replacement) 1. Daylight and protect existing duct bank; 2. Construct the permanent retaining wall system by advancing helical piers and tie-back in front of the existing wooden retaining wall; 3. Partially demolish and dispose of portion of existing retaining wall to facilitate installation of new permanent wall system; 4. Construct the new permanent retaining wall system by advancing helical piers and tie-back; and 5. Install subdrain; 6. Backfill and restore side-slope to match existing slope of 2H:1V and hydroseed; 7. Restore the finished grade and install asphalt pavement in front of the new permanent wall to provide positive drainage toward the adjacent catch basins.
