This project replaces air handling units, fan coil units, VAV boxes, and associated ductwork, piping and controls. Additionally, this project provides the proper electrical and data connections needed for the mechanical equipment replacements. Architecturally, this project provides doors, walls, and roofing changes. Strucurally, there are floor removals, equipment pads, and roof openings. Consistent with Minnesota Statute, Section 473.144, MAC may not accept a bid or proposal for a contract or execute a contract in excess of $100,000 with any business unless said business is in compliance with certain requirements concerning affirmative action plans. Evidence of compliance must be submitted within (1) one MAC business day following opening of bids. Bids will be considered non-responsive if the compliance requirements are not met. Compliance requirements are outlined in the project specification. The goal of the MAC for the utilization of Targeted Group Businesses on this project is 6%. Each bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the form of a certified check made payable to the MAC in the amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total bid, or a surety bond in the same amount, running to the MAC, with the surety company thereon duly authorized to do business in the State of Minnesota. Such Bid Security to be a guarantee that the bidder will not, without the consent of the MAC, withdraw its bid for a period of (70) days after the opening of bids, and, if awarded the Contract, will enter into a contract with the MAC, and in connection therewith, give Payment and Performance Bonds as required by law and on forms furnished to the Contractor by the MAC. In the event the Bidder fails to enter into a Contract, the amount of the certified check will be retained or the bond enforced by the MAC. The Bid Security of the (3) lowest bidders will be retained until the contract is executed, but in no event longer than (70) days. The Bid Security of the lowest responsible bidder shall be retained in any event until the contract is executed and Payment and Performance Bonds furnished as herein provided. MBE (32%), WBE (20%)
