Renovation of a water / sewer project in South Elgin, Illinois. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project.
Separate sealed Bids are solicited for the following project: Project Name: Village of South Elgin, Illinois 200,000 Gallon Double Ellipse Exterior Overcoat Wet Interior Repaint And Miscellaneous Repairs Note: This project name shall be understood to include the entire scope of project as defined and detailed by these specifications and Contract Documents The structure is a 200,000 gallon double ellipse elevated water storage with a high-water level of 115.5 ft. located on Lucille St. in South Elgin, Illinois. The work includes: Exterior: High pressure water clean (5,000 to 10,000 psi), spot power tool clean to a SSPC-SP11 standard, and apply a three (3) coat epoxy urethane system. Wet Interior: Abrasive blast clean to a SSPC-SP10 near-white metal standard and apply a three (3) coat zinc epoxy system. Foundation: Water clean and apply a two (2) coat epoxy system. Repairs: 1)Replace the gasket on the riser manway. 2)Install a gasket on the wet interior roof hatch. 3)Install a handhold at the roof hatch. 4)Install a riser grate. 5)Overflow discharge modification. 6)Install bowl rigging couplings. 7)Balcony drain holes. 8)Install a fall prevention device on the wet interior ladder. 9)Install a roof handrail with a painter's railing. Commence work on or after April 1, 2022. Work hours are 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. Monday through Saturday. Substantial Completion by June 15, 2022 including cure and disinfection time. The Owner has determined that the following alternate is applicable to this project
