Renovation of an educational facility in Prince Rupert, British Columbia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a educational facility.
Remove the low voltage lighting control system and provide a complete local lighting control system for the building, suitable for integration or compatibility with future LED lighting upgrade. Large common areas such as corridors and atrium would be controlled from power packs located in the existing low voltage panel locations. Switches would replace existing to provide control of common area. Classrooms, offices, and similar spaces would have a power pack control located above ceiling and in line with the existing line voltage control. Motion sensors and switches would be located to suit the room layout. Small areas such as janitor closets, storage rooms, etc it is more suitable to provide a local wall mounted motion switch as these spaces would never require an upgrade to dimming or grouped controls. All pot lights and pendant lights would be replaced with LED fixtures. The pendant fixtures would have built-in sensors providing motion control for added energy savings. The sensors can be programmed to dim down to a certain brightness after no motion has been detected. Investigate the installation of the exterior light fixtures to determine if any repairs are required.
