Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways (MoH) requires the services of two consultant teams to complete the design and tender packages for Safety Improvement Projects throughout Saskatchewan. Each successful consultant's agreement will span two (2) years with the possibility of extending to a third year should MoH choose and both parties agree. Approximately 8 projects will be assigned to each package every year. Package 1 will focus primarily on the Central Region Maintenance area, and Package 2 will focus primarily on the Southern Region Maintenance area (see attached figure for maintenance area boundaries). Proponents shall indicate which packages they are pursuing, and each project team can only be awarded one package. A technical and financial submission must be submitted for each proposed team for evaluation purposes, with Package 1 being evaluated first. The specific project locations are not known at this time, but it is anticipated that designs will be required for the following types of safety projects: Left turn lanes Right turn lanes Channelization treatments Acceleration lanes Flare treatments Bypass treatments Municipal road realignments Embankment flattening Safety barriers Pedestrian crosswalks with overhead signs The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
