Site work and asbestos abatement for an educational facility in Jacksonville, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a 27,500-square-foot, three-story above grade educational facility; and for asbestos abatement for a educational facility.

Generally, the work includes removal and disposal of floor tile, tile mastic, carpet, window caulking, windows, and lead based paint in accordance with all federal and state rules and regulations. Bids shall include: 1. Properly completed Proposal Form in duplicate. 2. Bid Bond inthe amount of 10% of Bid. 3. Not less than the prevailing hourly wage rate as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor pursuant to Illinois Revised Statutes, Ch. 489, Sec. 39s-1 et. Seq. 4. Information for minority owned businesses which will perform atleast apercentage of the work specified in the project and the proposal dollar value ofthe work. All Bidders are advised that all work of this Contract shall be subject to the provisions of the "Illinois Prevailing Wage Act". Prevailing wage rates have been determined and are on file at the Office of the State of Illinois Department of Labor, telephone (217) 782-6206. All Bidders shall submit and enclose with their bid anotarized certification that the Contractor is not barred from bidding on the Contract as aresult of aviolation of either Section 33 E-3 or33E-4 of Article 33E, Public Act 85-1295 (Senate Bill 2002) effective January 1, 1989. Certification is located in the Proposal Form, Section 00300, of this Project Manual. Bids shall be accompanied by abid bond in the amount of 10% of Bid, made payable to the Jacksonville School District #117. Failure of Bidders to submit bid bond or cashier's check in the amount of 10% of the bid shall be cause for rejection of bid. Successful Bidder will be required to provide Surety Performance Bond and Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the Contract cost on prescribed forms within ten (10) days after notice of acceptance is issued by Owner. Surety on bond shall bebya dulyauthorized U. S. Treasury Backed company licensed to do business in the State of Illinois, acceptable to Owner. No bid shall be withdrawn for sixty (60) days after opening of bids without written consent of the Owner. Generally, the work includes renovation of the existing three-story 27,500 square foot building and an addition totaling 9,500 square feet. Renovation work includes, but is not limited to, interior demolition, new partitions and finishes, window and door replacement, and new HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and sprinkler systems. Construction schedule is March through December of 2022.
