Demolition and site work for a residential development in Morehead City, North Carolina. Completed plans call for the demolition of a residential development; and for site work for a residential development.
In removing and disposing of the structure and debris, Contractor must: - Deconstruct the structure in a manner that will prevent any debris from becoming airborne or otherwise affecting any adjacent properties; - Remove any and all hazardous materials or other recyclables to be disposed of in an appropriate manner; - Debris from the deconstructed structure shall be transported on a vehicle capable of safely moving the materials from the demolition site to a certified landfill or recycling facility; - During transportation, all debris must be covered with a tarp or fabric cover and shall be properly secured so as not to allow any debris to fall from the vehicle; - Remove and replace any contaminated soil that results from the spillage of any fluids or hazardous materials from equipment associated with performing deconstruction or removal of the structure; - Take measures during the demolition and removal so as not to cause any unnecessary damage to the property or any easements to or from the site; - Notify Morehead City Planning & Inspections Department if any damage occurs to the property during removal, before leaving the property; - Dispose of all waste in accordance with Federal, State, and Local laws; - Contractor seed mix or equivalent is acceptable for stabilization; - All fees associated with this project (i.e., permit fees, disposals fees, etc.) are the responsibility of the contractor; - Disconnection of utilities will be the responsibility of the contractor; - The contractor shall take every reasonable precaution throughout the contract to prevent the erosion of soil and the sedimentation of streams, lakes, reservoirs, other water impoundments, ground surfaces, or other property as required by the Sedimentation Pollution Control Act; - All adjacent properties, utilities, vehicles, and structures of any nature, whether below or above ground, that may be affected by work shall be protected and maintained by the contractor and shall not be disturbed or damaged during the progress of work; - Contractor shall clean up all debris on site and any paved areas that have been soiled shall be cleaned; and - Contractor shall collect, preserve, store, account for, and sell any materials and personal property at the site which are marketable in any way. If Contractor's sale of such materials and property result in an amount exceeding Contractor's demolition price, such excess proceeds shall be provided to the Town. The Town of Morehead City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals for any reason that is deemed to be in the best interest of the Town. The Town also reserves the right to cancel in part or in its entirety this RFP. This solicitation in no way obligates the Town of Morehead City to award a contract. The Town may contract to conduct only a portion of the project(s).
