The City of Lafayette is seeking firm(s) to provide on-call building plan review and inspection services to supplement the City’s Building Department staff. Services include. Residential Plan Review Commercial Plan Review Residential and Commercial Combination and Electrical Inspections. The City has adopted amended versions of the 2015 International Building, Energy Conservation, Fuel Gas, Mechanical, Plumbing, and Residential Codes as well as the 2020 National Electrical Code. Plan review includes all aspects of building construction including framing, egress, accessibility, energy conservation and green construction, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing. This would be an ‘on-call’ position on an as- needed basis. The on-call services are needed to supplement City staff capacity in the event of vacations, illness, complex plan review or spikes in demand for plan review and inspection services. While the City will strive for advance notice, in the case of unexpected staff illness, notice may be as short as 2-4 hours.
