Site work for a water / sewer project in Rapid City, South Dakota. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
Replacement of approximately 1800 LF of existing 10" sanitary sewer main with 12" sanitary sewer main. Sewer main replacement will be completed by pipe bursting (trenchless) methods where possible and replacement will be completed by open cut trench methods in other locations. Manholes will also be replaced. No interpretation of the meaning of the plans, specifications, or other pre-bid documents will be made to any Bidder orally. Every request for such interpretation shall be in writing and addressed to the Consultant Jason Pettyjohn with FMG Engineering, at jpettyjohn@fmgengineering.com, or by mail at 3700 Sturgis Road, Rapid City, South Dakota, 57702, and must be received at least five (5) days prior to the date fixed for the opening of bids in order for the City Project Manager to give it appropriate consideration Each proposal must contain a certified check or cashier's check for five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid. Such check shall be certified or issued by either a State or National Bank and payable to the City of Rapid City, Rapid City, South Dakota, or in lieu thereof, a bid bond for ten percent (10%) of the amount bid, and such bond to be issued by a surety authorized to do business in this state and payable to the City of Rapid City, Rapid City, South Dakota, as a guarantee of the Bidder entering into a contract for the construction of the work and furnishing of a 100 percent performance bond. The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive all informalities and to accept the bid that is to the advantage of and is in the best interest of the City of Rapid City. Schedule 1 - All work necessary to have all sewer pipe operational shall be complete by April 29, 2022. All other work including ground surface restoration, with the exception of vegetation watering, shall be complete by May 13, 2022. Liquidated damages, as specified in the Rapid City Standard Specifications, will be charged for failure to complete the project on or before the completion date. Liquidated damages will not be charged for watering after May 13, 2022. If Contractor cannot complete project within the Schedule 1 timeline, Contractor shall not provide a bid price for Schedule 1 and shall cross out the bid item on the Bidder's Schedule. Schedule 2 - Mobilization to the site can begin on September 6, 2022. Construction activites requiring ground excavation and placement of traffic control devices can begin on September 19, 2022. All work necessary to have all sewer pipe operational shall be complete by November 4, 2022. All other work including ground surface restoration, with the exception of vegetation watering, shall be complete by November 18, 2022. Liquidated damages, as specified in the Rapid City Standard Specifications, will be charged for failure to complete the project on or before the completion date. Liquidated damages will not be charged for watering after November 18, 2022. If Contractor does not want to provide a bid price for Schedule 2, Contractor shall cross out the bid item on the Bidder's Schedule. The City reserves the right to select whichever schedule is believed to be in the best interest to the City of Rapid City.The City reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive all informalities and to accept the bid that is to the advantage of and is in the best interest of the City of Rapid City.The Owner reserves the right to the extent allowed by law to award the work as is most advantageous to the City or reject any or all bids.Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any and all informalities, and to disregard all non-conforming, non-responsive, or conditional bids.
