Site work and renovation of a civil project in Grant, Alabama. Completed plans call for the renovation of a water / sewer project; and for site work for a water / sewer project.

The project consists of Contract A: Install a booster pump station, Contract B: Install a 50,000-gallon elevated storage tank, and Contract C: Install 22,500 linear feet of 6" water lines. Bidders may bid on Contract A, Contract B, Contract C, or all contracts. A cashier's check drawn on an Alabama bank or a Bidder's Bond, payable to the North Marshall Utilities Board for an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid, but in no event more than ten thousand dollars, shall be filed with the bid. The bidders' bond shall be prepared on the form specified and signed by a bonding company authorized to do business in the State of Alabama. Both a Performance Bond and a Labor and Material Payment Bond, proof of insurance, verification of E-Verify enrollment, and a complete list of subcontractors and suppliers will be required prior to the signing of the Contract. A Performance Bond in an amount equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract cost and Labor and Material Payment Bond in an amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract cost in the form and terms approved by the North Marshall Utilities Board will be required at the signing of the contract. In addition, the Contractor must furnish to the North Marshall Utilities Board at the time of the signing of the contract a certificate of insurance coverage as provided in the specifications. This project is being bid excluding taxes, and requires the Contractor comply with the requirements of Act 2013-205, which was signed into law on May 9, 2013. The Contractor and the Owner will be required to apply for Certificates of Exemption with the Alabama Department of Revenue which will handle administration of the Certificates. The Contractor shall account for the tax savings on the Proposal Form. No bids will be considered unless the bidder, whether resident or non-resident of Alabama, is properly qualified to submit a bid for this construction in accordance with all applicable laws of the State of Alabama. This shall include evidence of holding a current license from the State Licensing Board for General Contractors, Montgomery, Alabama, as required by Chapter 8 of Title 34, of the Code of Alabama, 1975. In addition, non-residents of the State, if a corporation, shall show evidence of having qualified with the Secretary of State to do business in the State of Alabama. The bidder shall show evidence of proper license by clearly displaying the current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope. In addition, bids shall be clearly identified on the exterior of the package with the bidder's name, address, the name of the project being bid, and time and place of the bid opening. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of sixty (60) days. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive technical errors if the best interest of the Owner will thereby be promoted, and to waive informalities and to furnish any item of material or work to change the amount of said Contract. All bids received after the date and time of the bid opening noted above will be returned unopened. Compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations is required.
