Site work and paving for a mixed-use development in Sycamore, Illinois. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; for paving for a road / highway; sidewalk / parking lot; sidewalk / parking lot; and water / sewer project.

The proposed construction consists of installing approximately 3,960 lineal feet of new 8-inch water main and 2,060 lineal feet of new 10-inch water main, including new hydrants, valves; and other miscellaneous items of work. The contract will include all work necessary to install the water main; install water service lines via directional drilling and open cut methods; reconnect existing water service lines; roadway paving and reconstruction; concrete curb and gutter removal and replacement; concrete sidewalk removal and replacement; and perform all restoration to return the area to its original condition and other miscellaneous items of work. Not less than the prevailing rate of wages as determined by the Department of Labor or determined by the court on review shall be paid to all laborers, workmen and mechanics performing work under this contract. The City of Sycamore is exempt from the Illinois State, municipal or county Retailers Occupation Tax, Service Occupation Tax, Use Tax, and Service Use Tax as described in Illinois Compiled Statute Chapter 35. Bid prices shall not include the cost of such taxes. All Bids must be accompanied by a Bidder's bond, certified check, bank cashier's check or bank draft payable to the City of Sycamore for ten percent 10% of the total amount of the Bid as provided in the Bidder Instructions. Rejection of Bids. The Council reserves the right to reject any or all Bids and to waive technicalities. Unless the Bids are rejected for good cause, award of contract shall be made to the lowest responsible and responsive Bidder.
