TPPD-24-WPSR Description: The scope of work involves the restoration of two of the Tinley Park-Park District's water slides at the White Water Canyon Water Park outdoor pool. There is one White Closed/Open Flume tube Slide that will require a full restoration of the slide interior, one Blue Closed Flume Body Slide that will require compound, polish, and hand waxing, Red Closed/Open Flume Body Slide. The attached photos depict the condition of the slides. The contractor will be responsible for repairing the damaged areas of the slide, and resurfacing with a new coat and finish. The project to commence in the spring of 2024 and the complete project must finish no later than May 10, 2024. Project-White Open/Closed Flume Slide o Sand and clean entire slide interior to prepare for coatings o Remove existing non-skid and lay new non-skid at start tub equal to existing o Cut all seams and remove all old caulk. o Re-caulk all seams with 3m 4200 (or approved equal) o All fiberglass repairs to be sprayed o Repair all minor chips, cracks, and stress fractures to be addressed o Inspect and preform any structural fiberglass repairs in ride path as needed o Premium Gel Coat to be used. Isophthalic Maxguard Premium by Ashland (or approved equal) o Gel Coat will be applied to a thickness of 18-24 mils to entire slide. Color to match existing o Premium High Gloss Additive to be used with the Gel Coat. Product to be Duratec High Gloss by Hawkeye Industies (or approved equal) o Repair all structural repairs internal and external. Structural repair is defined as any damage that is obvious and a threat to the guest, (i.e. not smooth; a chip or scrape with a sharp edge) o All putty repairs to be done with vinyl-ester resin 100% water proof putty Project-Blue Open Flume Slide o Remove by method of sanding ALL Calcium using 400 to 600 grit sand paper. o Mechanical application of WATER BASED Grit Enhanced Compound. Aquabuff 1000 by Hawkeye Industries or equal to be used. Oil based compound is NOT to be used. Compound to be worked out aggressively into the fiberglass. o Hand application of Ceramic UV rated Wax to cover entire slide. Profile by Farcela Products (or approved equal) to be used. o Ceramic UV rated Wax to be removed by mechanical means to a polished finish. o All seams on this slide are in need of re-caulking.
