Demolition, site work and renovation of a multi-residential development in Bakersfield, California. Completed plans call for the demolition of a multi-residential development; for the renovation of a multi-residential development; and for site work for a multi-residential development.
This project involves the demolition, repair and cleanup of a fire damaged apartment. All evidence of any fire damage shall be removed, repaired and/or replaced. The Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities. All inquiries regarding this Invitation for Bids should be directed to Johnny Montez, Facilities Management Specialist at (661) 631-8500, extension 2403. Bids over $150,000 must be accompanied by a certified cashier's or bidder's bond payable to Housing Authority of the County of Kern for an amount not less than five (5%) of the bid price. The successful bidder will be required to furnish a performance bond and a payment bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price, if over $150,000. The time for completion of the contract is within ninety (90) calendar days of commencement of the work to be performed by the prime contractor. Start date shall be determined by the awarding agency and the prime contractor once the permits are secured. During the performance of this agreement, Contractor/Firm shall not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, or handicap. The work to be done is being financed by the Housing Authority of the County of Kern and is subject to the Copeland Anti-Kick Back Act, the Equal Employment Opportunity requirements and the Contract Work Hours and Safety Standards Act. Provisions of the State of California General Prevailing Determination requires wages and benefits be paid in accordance with those published are made a part of this IFB.
