Awarded the Project to Alta Planning + Design, Inc., in the amount of $250,000 The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) invites firms pre-qualified on the 2020 Quick-Build Design and Engineering and Construction Management Services Bench in Service Category A: Design and Engineering Services and/or the 2021 Transportation Engineering and Planning Services Bench in Service Category D: Active Transportation Planning and Engineering for this project. MTC seeks a consultant to develop a comprehensive Bay Trail Gap Closure Implementation Plan that will lead to expedient prioritization, design, and delivery of Bay Trail active transportation infrastructure for Equity Priority Communities (EPC). The consultant will perform background and document review, and ground-truthing as necessary, to record existing conditions of remaining unbuilt and substandard segments for regional spine, spur, and connector trails, emphasizing spur and connector trails to the Bay Trail, the Water Trail, and the Bay Area Ridge Trail that enhance access for EPCs. The consultant will develop quantifiable criteria in an evaluation matrix for prioritization of remaining unbuilt and substandard regional trail segments. The consultant will engage in agency stakeholder coordination and technical scoping, develop conceptual designs and cost estimates for the highest-ranking trail gap projects from the prioritization analysis, and facilitate robust community engagement throughout the project.
