The project consists of replacing the existing roofs with the SJCCD standard reinforced PVC roof assembly, reconfigure roof slopes for perimeter drainage to scuppers and downspouts. The project is also to provide coordination services with the solar panel design engineer for the new solar panel system that is planned to be installed on the new roof. SJCCD Buildings S7 and S9 are the north and south wing additions to academic building S-8. These two-story additions were completed in 1982. The roof area of each addition is approximately 26,000 square feet. The roof assembly for both wings, which appears to have exceeded its lifetime is comprised of a 4 ply BUR (Built Up Roofing) membrane on a tapered insulation (min. 2 1/2 " at drains) on a structural concrete deck.
