The work to be performed shall consist of furnishing all labor, materials, hardware, and all other necessary equipment and supplies to perform annual inspections of the entire Ventura Pier. Respond to emergency request for inspections and repair work that may include but not be limited to general carpentry, heavy timber framing, pile removal and replacement, surface preparation and coating of steel structures, welding, repairs, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical installations, fencing, signage, and any other necessary maintenance items. Work shall be performed on a time and materials basis or individually negotiated Fix Price task orders. Work shall be performed at the direction of the City's representative. All work shall be performed on a straight time basis unless overtime is authorized in writing, in advance, at the sole discretion of the City. This RFP contains the information and documents necessary to prepare and submit a responsive proposal. Proposers are responsible for complying with all requirements identified herein. By submitting a finished proposal packet, the Proposer represents that it has thoroughly examined and become familiar with the work required within this proposal and that it is capable of performing quality work to achieve the City's objectives. The City reserves the right to accept or reject any Proposal, or portions thereof, or to waive any informalities or irregularities within the proposals. The successful Contractor will be expected to enter into the attached General Services Agreement. General services shall be performed to the satisfaction of the City of Ventura designated representatives. Failure to perform the services in accordance with this proposal and to the satisfaction of the City of Ventura designated representatives shall be grounds for cancellation by the City of Ventura. Deadline for RFP Questions and Comments 4:00 p.m. PST, Tuesday February 22, 2022 Responses to Questions Available (Addendum) Thursday February 24, 2022 The term of this Agreement shall be July 1, 2022, or the date both parties execute this Agreement (the "Effective Date") and ending June 30, 2023. Option to Extend for Good Performance: The City may, at its option, and with the approval of the Contractor, extend the period of the agreement for one (1) year periods, for a period of up to four (4) years in accordance with the scope of work and general terms and conditions of the General Services Agreement. Any price increases or decreases shall be negotiated at time of contract extension. The City of Ventura assumes that the selected contractor will take great care in the designation of a lead coordinator of the service for the City. The lead coordinatorwill provide service to the City at the times deemed necessary by the City. The City reserves the right to reject a substituted component that will not meet or exceed City specifications.
