The City of Lynchburg's Water Resource Recovery Facility (WRRF) currently has two (2) Sharples Super-D-Canter DS-706 Centrifuges (Serial Nos. 97-DS706-032 and 97-08706-076). These two centrifuges and associated gearboxes require off-site and, if necessary, on-site maintenance as needed. For City solicitations done through the Procurement Division, all contact between bidders or prospective bidders and the City shall be only with the Procurement Division. Inquiries must be received at least 7 business days prior to the due date in order to be considered (April 5, 2022 by 1:00 p.m.). Only when specifically requested in the bid documents shall each bid be accompanied by a bid bond with surety satisfactory to the City or a Cashier's or a Certified Check, made payable to the City of Lynchburg. In the event of default by the Bidder, the deposit shall be and represent liquidated damages to the City. Bids received without a bid bond, when specifically requested, shall be rejected. Contractor expressly understands and agrees that any performance bond or insurance protection required by this contract, or otherwise provided by Contractor, shall in no way limit the Contractor's responsibility to indemnify, keep and save harmless and defend the City as herein provided. The initial term of this contract will be for (1) one-year with the option to renew up to (4) four additional (1) one-year terms, upon mutual agreement. The City reserves the right to use more or less of requested services, depending upon the changing environment associated with centrifuge needs. Price increases and or/decreases may only be negotiated at the time of contract renewal. The Owner reserves the right to cancel the Advertisement for Bids, reject any and all bids, waive any and all informalities, and disregard all conforming, nonconforming, conditional bids or counterproposals.
