Renovation of a mixed-use development in Savannah, Georgia. Completed plans call for the renovation of a 7,800-square-foot educational facility; and laboratory facility.
This project will repurpose and renovate the old GBI building on the Georgia Southern University Armstrong campus in Savannah, GA. The existing complex consists of (5) buildings and this project will renovate (2) of them, with an approximate size of 7,800 SF. These two buildings will be converted to dry lab research space in support of the Institute for Water and Health. This project includes conversion of the space to BSL-2 laboratory space, with a saltwater research lab. The project includes replacing the existing building roof system, replacement of the HVAC infrastructure, minor interior demolition, and the addition of an existing emergency generator.
