John Hersey High School: asbestos abatement of floor tile and mastic in the English Department and the Orchestra Room on the first floor. All documents must be returned to the Owner with their bids. Any bid submitted without return of the bid documents may disqualify the bidder. Adequate documents will be provided to the successful bidder for the project. Deposits will be returned via regular mail service following opening of the bids and return of the documents. Bid Security in the form of Bid Bond, cashier's check or certified check should be made payable to the Owner in an amount equal to not less than ten percent (10%) of the Base Bid and all additive alternates (if any). The successful bidder will be required to furnish a Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bond, AIA Form A311, in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract sum within 10 days after acceptance of the proposal. Failure to furnish such bonds will result in forfeiture of the Bid Security as liquidated damages. Bids must be submitted on forms provided by Ramboll. All bidders are required to attend unless prior arrangements have been made with the Owner and the Architect. SD 214 is currently following CDC's and IDPH protocols and guidelines for COVID 19. All bidders entering the building will be required to follow the requirements as posted during the walkthrough. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids or portions thereof and to waive any informality in the bidding. It is the Owner's intent to award a contract to only one contractor for all work on this project. Any bid submitted unsealed, or unsigned, or received subsequent to the aforementioned date and hour will be disqualified and returned to the bidder. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty days after the opening of bids. All Bidders must comply with Illinois Revised Statutes (820 ILCS 130/0.01-12), requiring the payment of prevailing wage rates to all laborers, workmen, and mechanics working on publicly funded projects. If during the time period of work these rates change, the contractor shall be responsible for additional costs without any change to the contract amount. A copy of prevailing wage rates for Cook County effective the date of the project shall follow. The contractor shall be responsible for all permits and notices including and required fees by any State County, or Local agency. All costs shall be included in the Contractor's Base Bid.
