In recent times, TCHC has identified bio-hazardous waste littering in public and common areas within TCHC buildings in the form of sharps and the accessories related to injection drug use. Sharps is a term used to describe objects, items or devices that are capable of cutting, piercing or puncturing the skin. These items will include but are not limited to syringes, needles, lancets, injectors and pre-filled pens. It is TCHC's objective to have an established and proper means of collecting, storing, transporting, and disposing of bio-hazardous waste in compliance with bylaws, regulations, guidelines and standards. TCHC is committed to preventing and reducing injuries and health hazards to staff and tenants and preventing exposure to any infectious diseases from used and contaminated sharp objects within TCHC Properties. TCHC is seeking a qualified Proponent for the supply, service and maintenance of secure bio waste boxes/sharps disposal containers, including installation, content removal and disposal at multiple sites.
