Site work and paving for a civil project in Ottawa, Ontario. Working plans call for site work for a bridge / tunnel; and for paving for a road / highway.
Contract 1 (GWP 4124-14-00) – Highway 417 Maitland Ave. and Woodroffe Ave. Rapid Bridge Replacements. Highway 417 from 1.1km east of Maitland Ave. I/C#126 to 1.3km west of Richmond Road I/C#130 for 7.2km. Rapid bridge replacement of the Maitland Ave. and Woodroff Ave. structures, 5.6km of mainline resurfacing on Highway 417, installation of snow barrier on the Clyde Ave. structure and ATMS works. Stage 1A: Removal of retaining walls and slope paving ; Stage 1B: Highway paving - widening and shoulder stiffening; Stage 1C: Construct retaining walls and abutments. Stage 2 includes Demolition of existing bridge; Shift traffic outward to construct piers and sewers in median; Replacement of existing bridge ; Profile adjustment / bridge approach work. TIMELINE: Design is complete. Tender and construction schedules are being finalized. Construction for Stage 1 is anticipated to start in 2026 and continue into 2027. Construction for Stage 2 is anticipated to start in 2027 with the rapid bridge replacement occurring in 2028. RFP for construction contract administration services, which was issued in a separate report, has closed; an award has not yet been released. *Estimated Cost Range $25 to $100 million.
