Renovation of a detention facility in Topeka, Kansas. Completed plans call for the renovation of a detention facility.

1 Raypak boiler, storage tank, and expansion tank that provides domestic hot water for the Juvenile Detention Center (JDC). Boiler will be replaced with another Raypak unit model number WH7- 503A, new storage tank, circulation pump, and expansion tank. Storage tank may be substituted for 2 smaller tanks that equal the size of the existing. o 3 Aerco heating boilers that supply heat to the original building of the Adult Detention Center (ADC). These will be replaced with model Aerco model BMK3000 boilers, new expansion tank, and new condensate neutralizers. New boilers must be controlled by current boiler management system. o 1 Rheem water heater that provides domestic hot water to the main kitchen at the ADC. This unit will be replaced with a AO Smith BTH199 high efficient water heater. o 2 State water heaters that provide domestic hot water to the living areas of the Adult Annex facility. These units will be replaced with 2 AO Smith BTH400A high efficient water heaters. New boilers shall operate in series as the current units. o For all of the areas, the connections and modifications to existing piping, controls, and flues will be the contractor's responsibility. o All materials including isolation valves, piping, and pumps shall be the contractor's responsibility. o Contractor will be required to follow the departments current COVID protocols at the time of the project. o Onsite workers will need to pass a background check prior to being allowed onsite.
