Site work for a water / sewer project in Topeka, Kansas. Completed plans call for site work for a water / sewer project.
As of Sept 6 the project was awarded to Schuetz Construction for $642,091.50. The project will replace approximately 700 LF of 8" RJ PVC Water Line by HDD and 474 LF of 8" RJ PVC Water Line by trenching. The water line will be installed on the west side of SW Jackson St. between SW 8th Ave. and SW 10th Ave. in water line easement. Service and fire line connections will be necessary across SW Jackson St. All bids must be accompanied by a cashier's check or a bid bond for not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid (including alternates), made payable to the City of Topeka, Kansas. The original bid security shall be in the office of Contracts and Procurement before the 2:00 closing date. All persons seeking to enter into a contract with the City shall submit an acceptable affirmative action program in accordance with Section 2.135.130 of the Code of the City of Topeka, Kansas. Bidders shall take note of requirements for notification of MBE's and WBE's as stated in paragraph 24 of the Instruction to Bidders.
