Work under this project includes support to the Town during a disaster recovery effort. Selected firm will be responsible for the overall monitoring of debris collections performed by the Town's Disaster Debris Collector in accordance with the Stafford Act and FEMA policies and guidelines. Firm shall coordinate with the Town and the Disaster Debris Collector(s) to ensure a compliant, well-managed and organized approach to debris collection and disposal within FEMA guidelines. Each Bid shall be accompanied by a certified or cashier's check drawn on a national or state bank, or an acceptable Bidder's Bond, payable unconditionally to the Town of Bay Harbor Islands, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the amount of the Total Bid Price, as a guarantee that the Bidder will, if award is made, execute a Contract for Construction to do the Work for the Bid amount and furnish any required certificates of insurance and bond documents within the time period specified in the General Conditions. The Bid Bond shall be made payable to the Town of Bay Harbor Islands. Selected firms are expected to be extremely knowledgeable of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and any other governmental agency's regulations, guidelines and operational policies. No Pre-Bid Conference will be held as part of this solicitation. Interested parties are responsible to get familiar with the site conditions and requirements of the RFP. Selected firms are expected to be extremely knowledgeable of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and any other governmental agency's regulations, guidelines and operational policies. Selected firm will be responsible for the overall monitoring of debris collections performed by the Town's Disaster Debris Collector in accordance with the Stafford Act and FEMA policies and guidelines. Firm shall coordinate with the Town and the Disaster Debris Collector(s) to ensure a compliant, well-managed and organized approach to debris collection and disposal within FEMA guidelines The Town reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities in any bids received, to re-advertise for bids, or to take any other such actions that may be deemed in the best interests of the Town.
