Site work and paving for a road / highway in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. Completed plans call for site work for a road / highway; and for paving for a road / highway.
This project provides for the asphalt resurfacing of the PA Turnpike mainline from Milepost 197.37 to Milepost 201.73 including correction of the roadway cross slope through variable depth milling and paving. Also included is the installation of DMS signing, concrete median barrier with swift gates and Traffic Management System for the Blue Mountain and Kittatinny Tunnels. Work items include, but are not limited to: 520 CY Class 1B Excavation 1,057 TON Subbase Under Guide Rail 10,932 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Wearing Courses , 2,587 TON Superpave Asphalt Mixture Design, Binder Course PG 64S-22, 19.0mm Mix 19,709 TON Stone Matrix Asphalt Mixture Design, Wearing Course PG 64E-22, 12.5mm Mix, SRL-E 255,333 SY Milling of Asphalt Pavement Surface, Various Depths 448 LF 18" Pipe 8,828 LF Type 31S Guide Rail 10 EA Type M Inlets 9,602 LF Concrete Median Barrier 48,190 EA Sonic Nap Alert Pattern -- LS Maintenance and Protection of Traffic 139 EA Junction Boxes, Various Sizes 45,135 LF Underground Cable, Copper 1 Conductor Various AWG 26,565 LF HDPE Communication / Power Conduit 57,200 LF Exposed Conduit in Tunnel -1" 11,205 LF Trench Method Modified, Various Types 748 SF Signs, Various Types 3 EA DMS Support Structures 3 EA Traffic Signal Support Mast Arm 41 EA Install Swift Gate, Various Lengths -- LS Swift Gate Materials and Installation 15,280 LF Fiber Optic Cable, 6mm 4 EA ITS Closed Circuit Television Camera Subsystem -- LS Portal Building Conduit Systems 3 EA Walk-In (Type 1) DMS Sign and Installation 3 EA Dynamic Message Sign, Type 2 112 EA Lane Control Signal - Single Sided Milepost 196.50 is located approximately 7.5 miles east of the Willow Hill Interchange, Exit 189, in Franklin County and Milepost 201.73 is located approximately 0.75 miles east of the Blue Mountain Interchange, Exit 201, in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. The proposal and plans are published electronically in EBS and are available to registered business partners for downloading and printing. An electronic bid bond, from an approved vendor, with corporate surety, in the amount of five (5%) percent of the bid must be submitted with the proposal as bid security. The bid security of the three (3) low bidders will be retained until the execution of the contract. (The normal time for execution of the contract is approximately four [4] weeks.) A Prequalification Certification and Applicable Capacity Rating assigned by the Prequalification Office of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is a necessary prerequisite for bidding on this project. The opening and listing of bids not meeting all the terms and conditions of the bid advertisement or bid procedures does not act as a waiver or modification of any requirements contained in the bid advertisement or bid procedure. The Provisions of the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Act of August 15, 1961, P.L. 987, as amended, together with the rates and regulations promulgated by the Secretary of Labor and Industry applicable thereto, shall apply to this contract. Any questions for this project must be submitted electronically in EBS by registered business partners.
