CVWD s Engineering Department is requesting formal proposals from consultants to prepare final plans, specifications, and cost estimates for the Airport Boulevard/Valley View Water Transmission Main and Sewer Improvements project (Project). The Project work scope includes utility research, survey, potholing, right-of-way research and acquisition of necessary pipeline easements (including preparation of legal descriptions and plats), geotechnical services, identification of alternatives and preferred pipeline alignments, final design documents, specifications, cost estimates, and permits for: 1. A proposed 30-inch diameter water transmission main and 12-inch to 8-inch diameter distribution mains generally located along Airport Boulevard and 57th Avenue near Highway 86 in the eastern Coachella Valley in Riverside County. 2. The design effort shall include plans and specifications for master meter connections, fire protection, and tie-in connections to the existing onsite water systems for the thirteen mobile home parks, including associated improvements and/or abandonments of existing onsite pipelines, wells, etc. 3. A proposed offsite improvements include a new sewer lift station, 16,150 feet of 8-inch and 10-inch diameter gravity sewer pipeline along portions of Ave 57, Fillmore Street, Desert Cactus, Airport Blvd and Soto Street and lateral connections to connect these same communities to CVWD s sanitation system. The new sewage lift station would be constructed east of State Route 111 and the Coachella Valley Stormwater Channel, just south of Avenue 57 and from there, 1,550 linear feet of 6-inch diameter force main would be constructed to connect to CVWD s existing sewer pipeline at the intersection of State Route 111 and Church Street. The design effort needs to include onsite improvements and laterals needed to convey flows from the mobile home parks to the offsite sewer main. 4. It is expected that the water and sewer improvements will be constructed in up to three phases each over time as funding becomes available. Therefore, the selected consultant will be required to ensure that both the water and sewer improvement plans can be assembled into three separate bid packages each if needed.
