Site work and new construction of a municipal facility in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Completed plans call for the construction of a 2,322-square-foot, one-story above grade, one-story below grade municipal facility; and for site work for a municipal facility.
The work generally consists of supplying all materials, labour, and equipment necessary for the construction of Downtown Plaza, Sault Ste. Marie, ON. The new plaza will include an ice rink, splash pad, stage area and audience seating. Complete tender documents, including tender forms may be obtained by general contractors commencing on February 28, 2022 from the Sault Ste. Marie Construction Association website www.ssmca.com, or by contacting the City of Sault Ste. Marie Purchasing office by email to purchasing@cityssm.on.ca. Avery Construction was awarded the contract for the Downtown Plaza Project in Sault Ste Marie. As the general contractor, we are responsible for the planning and execution of all components of the project including the management of our subcontractors and self performing of our work. This project involved a small building for office, mechanical room, change room and zamboni room. On the exterior, there is an outdoor rink, stage, water feature, amphitheater, mobile kitchen units, plenty of concrete pavement and asphalt as well. The work is expected to take 37 weeks, ending in January 2023.
